Contemporary

Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. It can be performed to many different styles of music, varying from smooth and graceful movement, to sharp and athletic movement.

Contemporary is based on the principles of contraction, release and spiral. Dancers in contemporary will explore a variety of dance techniques while developing their own sense of creativity and expression.
